Nestled among the expansive gardens and historic charm of Elkridge, Maryland, Belmont Manor & Historic Garden provided the perfect setting for Kristin and Michael’s romantic wedding celebration. Designed by White Fox Floral Design, the wedding florals embraced the natural beauty of the venue with a soft, sophisticated palette of white, ivory, blush, and chartreuse.

The result was a garden-inspired floral design that felt both timeless and distinctly modern—allowing the florals to complement, rather than compete with, the lush landscape surrounding the celebration.

A Soft, Garden-Inspired Ceremony

For the ceremony, we leaned into the expansive gardens at Belmont Manor with an organic aisle meadow designed to feel as though the flowers had naturally grown into the ceremony space. Four urn arrangements framed the ceremony, adding structure and height while maintaining the effortless, garden-inspired aesthetic.

The soft palette of ivory, blush, white, and chartreuse created a beautiful connection between the ceremony florals and the surrounding gardens. Rather than relying on a single flower or color to make an impact, we layered texture, movement, and varying shades of green to create an intentional floral experience.

A Cascading Bridal Bouquet

Kristin’s bridal bouquet brought a more dramatic expression of the floral design. A lush, cascading bouquet featuring orchids, anthurium, and amaranthus created movement from every angle while maintaining the soft, romantic palette.

The combination of sculptural anthurium, delicate orchids, and trailing amaranthus gave the bouquet a modern edge, while its organic shape kept it feeling romantic and effortless. It was a perfect example of the balance we love to create at White Fox Floral Design: elevated and intentional, but never overly structured.

Modern Meets Romantic Reception Design

For the reception, the floral design took on a slightly more modern direction while continuing the romantic garden aesthetic established during the ceremony.

Ivory candles, moss-adorned centerpieces, whimsical bud vases, and layered floral installations filled the space with warmth and texture. The moss details brought an organic quality to the tables, while the candlelight added an intimate glow that softened the more contemporary elements of the design.

A cascading bar arrangement created a focal point during cocktail hour, bringing flowers and movement into an otherwise functional area. At the sweetheart table, a floral installation framed Kristin and Michael and created a romantic focal point for dinner and photographs.

Throughout the reception, whimsical bud vases were scattered across the tables, creating a sense of abundance without making the arrangements feel overly formal. The combination of low floral moments, candlelight, moss, and larger installations allowed the design to feel layered and dimensional from every perspective.

From Ceremony to Reception

One of our favorite design details was the intentional repurposing of the ceremony urn arrangements. Rather than allowing these larger floral pieces to be enjoyed for only one portion of the day, we moved the urns to the reception entrance following the ceremony.

Positioned at the transition between cocktail hour and dinner, the urn arrangements created a grand floral moment as guests entered the reception space. Repurposing ceremony flowers in this way is one of our favorite strategies for creating a cohesive wedding design while making the most of a floral investment.

A Romantic Maryland Garden Wedding

Kristin and Michael’s wedding at Belmont Manor & Historic Garden was a beautiful study in balance.
