Robin & Gore's Historic Summer Wedding at The Hay-Adams Hotel | White Fox Floral Design
Some weddings are beautiful. Others carry a story that spans generations.
Robin and Gore's August 1, 2026 wedding in Washington, DC was both. Their celebration began with a ceremony at St. John's Church before guests gathered at the iconic Hay-Adams Hotel overlooking the White House for an unforgettable reception filled with lush summer florals, meaningful family history, and timeless elegance.
As a Washington, DC wedding florist, creating florals for a celebration so deeply rooted in the city's history was an incredible honor.
A Washington Love Story Nearly a Century in the Making
Washington has always been woven into Gore's family history. Long before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Bolton family stewarded one of the farms that would later become present-day Washington, DC. Today, that legacy continues through their family's historic farm in Southern Maryland.
After Robin and Gore had chosen St. John's Church and The Hay-Adams for their wedding, Gore mentioned their plans to his mother. She quickly realized something extraordinary—without knowing it, they had selected the exact same ceremony and reception venues where Gore's grandparents were married in 1932.
The family later uncovered the original newspaper announcement from that wedding, which Robin and Gore proudly displayed during their reception. It became one of the most meaningful details of the day, creating a beautiful bridge between two celebrations held nearly a century apart.
Romantic Summer Wedding Flowers at The Hay-Adams
Inspired by the warmth and abundance of peak summer, the floral design embraced a joyful palette of crimson red, vibrant pink, crisp white, and buttery yellow. The result felt refined yet exuberant—perfectly complementing the timeless architecture and classic elegance of The Hay-Adams Hotel.
Garden roses were the undeniable stars of the design. Luxurious David Austin Tess and David Austin Beatrice roses created rich layers of color and texture, paired with lush peonies, fiery gloriosa blooms, and delicate nerine lilies to add movement and dimension throughout the celebration.
Every arrangement was designed to feel romantic and abundant while maintaining an elevated, editorial style that reflected both the grandeur of the venue and the couple's vision.
